WTB: (WA) Cheap "klunker" early beetle

Hey everyone,

SHORT STORY:

WTB: Pre 63 Beetle's (rego'd and unrego'd considered)
Ideally under $750;
I require a temorary car whilst converting my vw engine.

PM or Mobile:
Corey
0439091100

LONG STORY:

My name is Corey and i have been a semi-active forum user and very active volkswagen enthusist since about the age of 13.

Recently I discovered a 63 beetle (my 3rd VW build)- (old grandma's story come to life)
Rego'd and shedded for nearly 20 years.
Pulled apart and re-primered (from what was an amazing shell) and left unfinished.
Secured it for $500, fully restored the vehicle into a real one-off rat beetle with the help of my partner.
Sold it to her at its completion, she sold her hyundai accent and I used that money to get a mild 1835cc behind it so she can learn how to handle an old car with some pretty serious power.
I have an intake system that I beleive will be unique in this country (or as far as i know)
The long term goal is to learn how to set up this air intake system on this 1835, get it all working, and then transfer the same principal onto an ej22 watercooled combination in the same volkswagen.
The reason i wish to do this conversion is to "learn how to" for my 54oval beetle which will run the same combination, with experience of "where to cut the body correctly"
anyhow, since the 1835 has been in the rat, we are both having such a great time in the car, and we understand that the ej22 conversion will mean the car comes off the road for six months to get everything 100%.
We both want this conversion to happen in her 63 as it is way cool and full of charcter, so whilst this procedure takes place... I'm looking for a pre 63 (mainly for the sweet budget transmission) beetle's in western australia, (rego'd and unrego'd) for under $750.
I will make it a temporary 6month driver for my partner.
Thanks

Worlds biggest toffee apple? i don't get it.

But in other words, $750 for a driveable pre 63' would be someone giving it away. sorry mate

But to keep you motivated, if you shoot for the moon and miss, you'll always land in the stars (insert naww! here...) :dork:

Moon stick also be this.
I have alot of pre 63 parts, so even if it was trimless, glassless roller with no motor. thats what im looking for.
If someone has as a total wreck, rolling shell. Nothing but a platform.
I see plenty of wrecks all the time that fit this catagory they are just often late 60's / early 70's.
Dont want to spend more than $1000 is the key.

Key factor, it doesnt need a motor (i've got that bit)
and other parts galore in my shed. I just want that early bug ratio in a box, so roller required.

Thanks everyone..

aaand naaaw for chris. thanks buddy

If you only need the car to drive for six months with a budget of $1000, then buy any old car. Buy a VN Commodore, or a Mitsubishi Colt or Sigma, or a Hyundai Excel with dents all over it. That will keep you going for six months and will be much more realistic to find for $1000.
