My kids watch more refined programs. I have all of the old episodes of Banana Splits, Thunderbirds, HR Puff'n'Stuff and Hair Bear Bunch. All really conservative and no imbibing substances were taken to make them for sure.

One awesome kids show thats on is 'horrible histories', and its actually intellectually stimulating and accurate (they tell you what parts are just made up to be silly and dramatise).

None the less, doesn't beat the stuff i grew up with.

and ANOTHER none the less, the flower pot men were the result of hash for sure.... lol. That show (even the original episodes) were a trip out.

Wasn't the rabbit in the magic roundabout always stoned?? i remember thinking at a very young age theres something wrong with that talking rabbit, yet i was pretty cool about all the oher talking animals....

Can't believe this is my first post on this forum (just got my '66 beetle back after an extended stay at the paint & body shop).

Anyway, my little 18 month old boy *loves* that show. He gets bored & walks out on most of the other stuff they show on ABC2 in that after work timeslot, but when the Night Garden is on he runs in & just stands there in front of the TV, transfixed.

I think it's just aimed at that kind of age group, maybe about 1-2. They can't really follow stories too well, so it's gotta be all bright & trippy to hold their attention.

Have to say my 18 month loves the show as well. I don't... Might be good if I was a stoner. Sad thing if you watch it enough you notice two of the characters like touching each other up, they all use the village idiot to wash there face and another three keep losing there pants... But it is good for half an hours piece and quiet but it is still crap
