WTD Bris: Working Type3 (or Beetle?) speedo aftermarket fine

Hi all!

As stated I need a speedo that fits a Type3 cable, don't care if factory or aftermarket. It's for a kitcar so as long as it fits the Type3 cable and works I'll consider it.

Thanks.

I have a new VDO electronic one in MPH I want to sell for $100 ono. You would need the 412.009 sensor/sender to power it though.

I only replaced it because I thought the speedo was faulty. It turned out it was the sender that was the problem. It works perfectly and is back in original packing with instructions. I think it did less than 20 miles on the car.

Cheers,

I have all sorts of km/h speedos for beetles.
These fit onto a type 3 cable too.

140km/h, with fuel gauge
160km/h, with fuel gauge
140 km/h, without fuel gauge.

price is $100.00 each.

OK, after a bit of measuring the diameter of the body has to be less than 90mm to fit in the dash (kitcar). Most of the genuine Type3 ones I have seen are significantly bigger. I can't seem to find a local dealer who has an aftermarket one new for a Type3 drive.

So if anyone has one, even aftermarket, that they would be willing to part with (even temporarily - adaptor for current speedo has been delayed and car is in for some minor maintenance and roadworthy cert. check now), everything else is done for re-rego but need a functional less-than-90mm dia Type3 speedo in my hands by latest Monday 18/06, after which it can be returned on Thursday 21/06 if required.

Be assured, I am happy to pay a fair price even for a loaner. If you're in Brisbane and have one that fits but you don't want to SELL it, give me a price and I will buy it, use it for a week tops, and sell it back to you at 2/3 of what I paid. Yes, seriously.
