someone had the same idea as I did.
Couldn't believe it when I saw these.
I had pretty much the same idea when I was thinking about replacement spring plate bushes and the problem associated with them.
eg. rubber is OEM isn't that good for performance although they do work, polyurethane is just stupid for spring plate bushes as it doesn't allow
them to work by their intended design.
So I was thinking we need a metal bearing and poly/rubber hybrid. Metal bush or bearing for the low friction squeak free rotation and poly for
rigidity yet giving enough for the flex in the suspension movements.

found these why looking at a blog site for some type 4 powered 912 and a some type 3s also.

Don't know if any of these would fit vw but I am guessing the early 911 or 944 might fit on at least one of the bushes?

They look nice, but the original rubber type have always worked well enough for me.

I like the JCL as if your going to have the spring plate bushed it may as well be fully supported. These would be a better wearing unit being fully
machined on the contact surfaces if they stay in place that is.

it works and these are well proven with Porsche enthusiasts and racers.
The spring plate shafts would be better machined and made a press fit for the races I would think. The race is there for the thrust face otherwise
it wouldn't work properly and wear prematurely.

alright for stock car, but doesn't even com close to how well "proper" poly bushes work.

no. i don't think you're getting the point.
Can't be solid metal, yet needs to turn easy and have give like rubber but more dimensionally stable that stock rubber.
See poly does not have the same sheer properties as rubber which spring plates rely on for their function. At the same time poly has far superior
compression and overall dimensional stability and that is key to maintaining suspension geometry under high load thus greatly improving handling and
vehicle stability under all conditions.
The problem is you can't have poly without loosing the proper sheer like action needed for the spring plates to rotate in place. You also can't
have sold metal bearing as you need some give for noise dampening, normal twisting and non lineal movements of the spring plate shaft. Otherwise the
ride with be rattly and hard as all f**k and the bearing will wear very fast from the hard pounding vibrations and shock loads.
With these hybrid bushes, you have flexibility and firm support via the poly outer bushing and free rotating low friction long life bronze bearing.
this is effectively taking the best of poly and rubber and making it better as one and adding extra serviceability as well.
I would be very reluctant to you those jaycee plates, they looks like an after thought

I think your missing the point, The spring plate takes out the non rotational forces, the turning moment is all that needs to be considered. It's the
same thing as the JC items, just more complicated manufacture with the urethane complicating things (to me making it not as effective).....my 2c
