Resto with running boards with a carerra body
I'd just like to get some opions. I have a 71 super that is about to go into the paintshop next week. I've planned a retro feel to the car even
though it has a carrera kit. The paint scheme is a deep red on the sides and rear and a pearlescent cream on the turret and boot lid. The wheels are
built up from stock 15" rims with offsets to fill the carrera guards and running 7" Yokohamas on the front and 8" on the rear with half smoothie
hub caps.
What I'd like to know is; has anyone seen carerra style VWs with standard running boards and how do they look with the carrera kit? Also are these
prone to rusting readily under ther rubber tread? And do these running boards fit the flared guards too?

Short answer..yes they can be fitted, if you rust proof under the rubber mats prior to fitting and buy the best quality possible, you shouldn't have
rusty running boards in the future.
Good luck with the work
