that sponsors banner again..
talk about targeted marketing !!! just noticed the Colony bicycles advertising in the top banner http://www.colonybmx.com.au/
So what is their rationale for advertising here ? are they thinking that cos we are all VW enthusiasts so we all need a 'Plan B' ('B' for Bike)
for when our cars inevitably (and regularly) break down ???
The nerve !!
I'm hurt now.

Most of Type3contingent are bike nuts too, from BMX to dragsters etc etc.
ING Direct advertise on here.... i prefer the bike advetising over that!

There's no need to get off your bike!
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Yes Clint who is a top bloke with some top cars runs Colony. Sponsorship does not necessarily need to be VW related, but everyone does need a plan B

I sort of took Uber Kafer's comments as tongue in cheek about how sometimes our prides and joy let us down more than a dig at the sponsor.

If you don't like ads then install an ad blocker addon in your browser and be done with it. I already mentioned that in the last thread

Haha, never thought of that marketing angle if our cars break down! Haha
Yeah I don't really expect anything from my advert on here it's more so a simple way to support the site. VWs give me plenty of joy so wanna give a
little back in supporting the community in return. But yeah if you want a BMX bike then I would be stoked if someone picked one up!

And as I read this, the banner at the bottom is

erm reading the adverts on the bottom
c'mon guys move along n read the proper content VW
if a few adverts appear at top n very bottom of page does it really matter
they are the one's for mostly funding this and other forums
unless we want go like the newspapers now n have a pay wall to read/post then prolly disappear altogether
I'm happy for one to see who supports us
just remember u don't have to click here n win an ifone n half a mil like lee
go the local traders - be it parts, service or bicycles

I gotta agree with h here. I don't mind ads around the edges of the screen, especially when they are financing the forum.
If I am looking to buy something, advertisers who support things I enjoy (like this forum) are certainly up the top of my considerations, whether it
is for VW parts, bicycles, houses, boots, or whatever.
