Are they talking about the transmission intermediate shaft bearing???
If so must be just the boxters.
All real Porsches like 911's... run very much the same shaft and bearing from the old 911 / 964's through to current, except for 996 which had a
sealed bearing, then they changed back to the old part number.
Same as I use.
I don't like boxters.

We wouldn't have guessed.
Haven't heard about this being a problem with the 911. Maybe it's the good old lawyers trying to drum up a bit of business?
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

only M96, M97 and boxster engine. Basically all the water pumper porsches from about 1997 + ? All flat engine porches from 1997 basically, less of a
problem with the earlyer ones
I bet those lawyers were waiting like vultures on this one. I can't see much being resolved with this.
ALL! of these porches and I mean ALL! will fail at some point, just a matter of time. typically between 20k -100k on the clock.

no why? I am dreaming of my notch and 914 actually, the comy is just a practice run at a restro. its also great at a testing ground to get a better
understanding of automotive engineering and how I can fit into the picture.
Its been a great learning experience. but lean I se what you mean, my righing *writing* is terrible. I typically make more than 50-60% mistakes when
I write or type. thank jebus for firefox spell check.

Not to worry, good old Raby and associates have come to the rescue on this one. re-engineering them one at a time!
This is what "modern" technology is like now. As Raby said himself "technology cannot replace overkill engineering" So true on everything we see
today and on so many levels.
I have a neighbor (out of all the possible people in the world) that drives a boxster and has done for years, will be interesting when her engine
fails Hopefully I would have to run over any pieces of metal on
the road.

What Raby is doing is fantastic. I have built and driven two of his new m96 engines the difference between factory and his improvements is night and
day. The new nickies sleeves that are used, the new billet rods and the pistons are just beautiful to work with. The head work is also very nice
also. I was given the keys to his boxster for four weeks and told to blow up the engine which was the first of his rebuilds of the m96 engine. I
tried to blow it up but couldn't.
This is my Volkswagen, there are many like it, but this one is mine. Without me my Volkswagen is useless, without my Volkswagen, I am useless.
