Removable apron

After years of struggling, I finally drilled out the apron spot welds.
Now engine removable is easy.
It would have been a great idea for VW to make the aprons removable.
Thanks for the threads about this.

Mmmm, somethings not right, can't quite put my finger on it, but I think that Honda Firefighter has the wrong fuel cap...

Jokes aside, did you used to take that to Valla back in the 90s?

Hey has anyone noticed that the engine is in the wrong end? That's the front isn't it. Too confusing.

Also the steering column looks bent and the alternator is like a coil.

Double ender.

Joel,

You are showing your age.
It was at Valla about 20 years ago.
It was built in the 70's so is almost a part of Australian VW history.
I have pulled it apart to give it a birthday for this year's Valla.
Hope I get it finished in time.

Only early 30s so wasn't that old but do remember it well, something like that really stands out from the pack.
