66 rat rod ute ..


Hi guys and gals am new to the whole vw scene have loved them for years but have finally got one to build my own.. It's a 66 model that I wanted to build into a rat ute to use as a run around for work ..
Progress upto date is ute conversion 3 inch roof chop .. Moved front been forward 100mm and up 50mm .. Will post pics once I work out how :(

Made up a bracket to move the beam forward 100mm and up 50mm..

Looks awesome so far

Have you talked to your engineer they seem to get the s***s with extended beams even though yours looks bombproof?

If you do get yours certified there will be plenty of buyers on here.

You are the guys that build sick rock crawlers, maybe you are your own engineer?

Good luck with it....he may want you to change the fuel tank as well;)

If he signs it off you need to start a mini production line and sell each one with an endorsed certificate, 'cos all the imported ones seem to cause guys over here grief.

I think the engineers make them get their extenders x-rayed to check for cracks/imperfections etc, ends up very exy$$
A bit ott; just eyeballing yours you know it aint going to break!

Thats no drama I have had to do that with heaps of other parts we have made .. More than happy to get the testing done and sell them with a certificate If there is a demand for them..
