I get all my engine parts from the States, get it sent USPS, i buy a lot of parts from pierside parts at Huntington Beach in the States, still works out a lot cheaper, there web site gives you a choice how you send it so you can cost it before hand.

Buy in Australia and pay through the nose, i just bought a pile of parts from karmannghias in the states and was charged $58.00 US for the freight USPS, arrived here in six days, plus the parts were half the price of the Australian equivilent

I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of stuff all from the states, never had one problem and saved thousands.
The sellers here buy from the states the very same parts you can get direct, cut out the middle man

Not always the case in my experience. Yes, the Aussie guys do buy from the Sates however as far as I know they bring parts in by the container load which reduces the freight costs considerably. An example. I have just ordered some Empi alloys from an Australian supplier and they are several hundred dollars cheaper than buying online from the USA and then paying freight. Having said that I am also importing some parts from the UK as I couldn't find an oz supplier. Just saying you need to do your homework on the specific parts you need before you part with your hard earned
Cheers....Wayne.

As you say it is the large parts that cost a lot of freight, you can always send them with one of the car transport companies as a filler in one of there containers and the cost is very reasonable, as long as you know what you want and feel comfortable buying online this is the way to go, if i have any questions just ring the shop in the ststes, i bought a lot of earls fittings from the states and they were half price landed. i have yet to find any items that i have bought in the states cheaper in Australia.
