VW Dealer Stickers

Anyone have any pictures of VW dealer stickers?

Mine was bought at Greg Cusack's in Canberra but can't find a picture of a sticker or any other dealers except for Lennox motors c/o ESigns.

Cheers

Shaun

the code has to be obtained via an admin of the forum now, i have to vouch for each member i give the code too. If i invite someone i dont know or someone i invite passes the code out to eveyone then they will be deleated and i will be banned. sorry. Its not a very good system to encourage people to join. I think they like to think being a Lufter is an exclusive thing. one again sorry. I will post the pictures here for you so you dont need their site

yes it doesn't encourage sit infront of the monitor types to join, but that is not what the luft is all about. sure there is plenty of talking, but it is about getting out there, getting to know each other and doing stuff. if you go to a few shows and get chatting to some lufters (and have the right sense of humour, touch of stupidity, total addiction to vw's etc fit in :) ) you are on your way to getting an invite.

it is a very tight knit community where people look out for each other and go out of thier way to help each other. this week one of the melbourne guys needed help lifting a t3 body off a pan and half a dozen guys put thier hand up during the week, cruised around today and did it. some had never met the guy they were helping.

yes it probably seems that we like it to be exclusive but if you had a forum where 98% of the posts are positive and stuff like the above happen regularly you too would be careful to try and keep it that way too.

i live in rural nsw so i can see how difficult it would be for people in a similar situation to join now, but unfortunately that is the downside of trying to keep the "feeling" that makes the luft what it is.

please note the above is just my opinion the mods etc might see it differently.

Most of the dudes on luft would be on here as well, yeah?? Still don't get the password thing... don't like how they can hold that power over you if invite someone they don't like you could get banned!!!

Things like this have a very one eyed culture, and want everyone to bow to their demands :td:

Hi

That would be Lanock Motors in Maroubra, Lennox were in Parramatta only.

I think I have a few late type Lanock stickers, they have florescent writing, very 80s.

lanocks were around from at least 56 (my 56 came from them) if not earlier with a number of different dealerships in the chain. i think that in the 60's they were the NSW spare parts distributors for vw australia.

tar76, a lot have accounts but a few got banned due to an ego tripping mod.

At the request of the photographer of the above images, I have to remove them. I've now got my own thread on the luftwebsite where we are now discussing the issue. I find myself hating the online world more and more because of fighting like this, we all share a passion you'd think we'd get along like a house on fire.

we do get on like a house on fire... lots of heat, flames and stuff getting f'd up. :)

i don't know your history with john (the photographer) but i have talked to him about getting banned here and what came after. if the same happened to me i wouldn't want my pictures on here either.

yes you are copping flack on the luft as is this site. the regulars love the place and if another member bags the place they often take offence. if a member doesn't seem to "get" what it is all about, people question why they are there. from my understanding melburg luft started because of peoples dis-satisfaction with avd at the time so picking on avd is almost a sport.

again, just my take on things.

I appreciate the insight. I don't understanding fighting on the internet at all. John has had some irk with me from the day I joined the samba, the only.reason I haven't been kicked from there by him is because I get along with everet. Hmm the marvels of technology

Its funny how a few bag AVD, but i see some on here advertise luft with their banners. If AVD was that bad then you'd think they would shut that down!
AVD has been around forever and a day and really is a good forum, has great people from all parts of the vw spectrim. I had my times on here were my opion has clashed, but hey i've got thick skin and can take it as well as i can give it and don't get the sooks on if things don't go my way.
As for just sitting in front of the monitor and typing..... some of us don't wear Avd shirts, have AVD banners at shows etc.. you my not reconise who we exactly are as some of us on here have been in the vw scene for a long period of time and they were the ones that set the secene that people follow today.
AVD has done a lot for the VW community and i'm fairly sure i wouldn't be the only to say that!!
I've used both so i've tasted both peices of the pie.

thanks for the info steve.

tar, i get what you are saying. AVD has certainly done a huge amount for the australian scene, i remember how exciting it was when i first found out about it. i'm back to checking here every day.

a lot of the dis satisfaction stemmed back to a period on here when it was a bit wilder. constant flaming, some of the moderation was rather heavy handed and skewed to the moderators point of view. a fair few of the old faces dissappeared and others (mods included) took a big step back. things are a lot better now but the damage was done.

Yep i can remember those days. I've been on AVD for awhile had different user name so my tar regis 2009 is not when i first got here, so i know the times your talking about.
I agree AVD is better but to me it never got so bad i hated everything about it. I suppose what i'm trying to say is they can be haters but don't bring that attitude to everyone else just because there not in the cool crowd. Both crowds like the same thing. :)
