WTB Type 3 Notchback 1969 panels

Looking for a rear left panel for a type 3 Notchback. (doesn't have the airvent!).

Does anyone know of a straight rust free panel for sale?

Preferably in Melbourne.

This is the last of the "skinny" models.

Can anyone tell me what is the earliest year that still suits a 69 model?

Thanks,

63-69 notch panel will work as the tail light shape is the same and no vents

the mould trim holes will be bigger on an earlier car is the only real difference, and may have additional hole for rear reflector depeding if you do or don't run wrap arounds.

i'll see if i can put the feelers out for one for you...

Thanks for all your quick replies. I'll check out W&M and see if they have one in stock as closest to home.

The car runs wrap arounds.

By the comments above I take it you can run the "shallow"tail lights on either guards. Is there anything needed to convert them or will they just bolt in.
Are the light globes in the same position as the deeper 69 tail lights?

I must say I love being involved with VW's due to the good nature common interest approach of everyone. I'm also involved with early Mini's and there is a lot more competitiveness and egos involved rather than the sharing attitude here.

I'll let you know how I go.

Cheers,
Anthony

Yes thanks.

Mardi had a chat. He only has good ones with vents for a square or fastback.

He only has a really rough one for a notch.

I'm hoping we can find something half decent to make less work.

Thanks for the lead though.

Cheers,
Anthony

I still haven't managed to track one down.

Wife called W&M and they say they don't have a good one to suit.

Anything turned up since?

Has anyone had the rust cut out by a place in Melbourne? current panel has large hole at the base of the panel under the tail light. Small rust in front of arch and bit at the top where it wraps around.

Cheers,
Anthony

Thanks for all your responses. I've contacted volksrecycle. If I have no luck there I'll check with Ross from Skinned knuckles if he thinks the existing one can be repaired.

Cheers,
