yep. A bar under the horns going from the end to the plate where they originally were. Then tied into the cage just before the axles on top. Should have more pics in the next few days if that didnt make sense

The cage will tie it all together. Up 100mm and back 5mm all centered and level within 1mm and 1 degree and that was on Sunday no beers.
Pics of the 4mm plate I made and the mid mount I finished tonight and yes Westi it will be remade in alloy.

Did you narrow rear 3inch ? Have you got axles yet ?
Another mod I would look at when you redo shifter is move it backwards a little to .
Must have a plasma cutter for those brackets (cut out)
Good work guys .

Yes Ben , we raised the rear torsion tube in Chris Boltons' turbo bug also . Chris has done 60 foot times of 1.36sec and his car is extremely stable at the top-end running 10.5's consistantly @ over 120mph . The low centre of gravity is a big advantage for stability and the rear suspension geometry a huge advantage for a swing-axle beetle at the line .

Not going to mount the shifter till the seat and steering is in Pete I want to be as comfortable as posible.
I got these on last night, got the idea from big wiggood way to stffen up the frame forn without using an engine plate will get more gussets in smaller diameter tube.
Thanks to Rod for the molly Brad for the bending and Benny for the running around.

Nice link Pete it alway looks easy when some one else is doing it.
Been a slow week for Norm got some spring plates and short axel tubes and bolted it all up and today I got started on the body, so much rust.
