Front beam - how straight does it need to be?
Have a BJ front beam that I want to fit Avis adjusters to. When I place a straight edge across the rear of the bottom torsion tube, there is a gap of
about 2mm in the middle. My guess is most old beams are not perfect but how bent is too bent?

Make sure your straight edge is straight! I was using one for years and wondering why every job i did seemed to turn out just a little odd.... One day
i just happened to check the straight edge and it was a mile out! Brand new 1m steel ruler bowed about 5mm!

Good Question!
I'm no expert, but what are you using it for?
2 mm for an occasional or even daily driver probably would be okay.
Wheel alignment should compensate okay.
Such a small variation may well be able to be corrected with careful adjustment in a press.
But if you are fitting adjusters, dont you have to cut the beam? Then when you weld it back together the 2mm variation wont matter

Daily driver use. With Avis adjusters you don't cut the beam right through (which is why they are legal in Vic)
