(WTD-WA) MK1 Golf lowering springs

any help or advice welcomed. i'm wanting a mild drop 40mm or so.
chopping a coil off?? i'm not a fan of the blow torch next to the shockies.
or do i have to spend a small fortune shipping stuff from europe?

Polo springs are smaller, and the car is lighter than the golf.
still looking tho!
