I know that that is a form of madness, but no such thing existed when I was a kid in the 1950s.

How I envy todays youngsters their playtime technology.

If I wanted to do anything like that when I was a kid, it would have to have been on a 28 inch wheeled back pedal braked bike, a pram wheeled or ball
bearing wheeled billy cart or on steel wheeled roller skates, without a helmet.

That in itself yould have been crazy, exciting and dangerous, but those kids have taken that form of excitement to a whole new level.

 I'm green with envy.

Maybe a little bit before your time [late '40s - early '50s], but the best biily cart I ever built had pram wheels at the front, and ball bearings
at the back.

Reckon that's where I learned how to drive a Beetle.

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it! |

 Oh! Yes!

Drifting around corners on a ball bearing wheeled billy cart is certainly where I learned a lot of vehicle control.

Being so close to the ground and the cart being made of jarrah 4x2s, it was impossible to turn it over.

I never bothered to have brakes on mine. To slow it down or stop it, I put it into a sideways drift, just like the kids in that video slowed
themselves down.

Also, A ball bearing wheeled billy cart is so noisy, that cars could hear you before they saw you and so easily avoid you.

 Awsome vids
Those guy seriously have no fear. I do a little bit of downhill longboarding
And to do a slide going that fast takes some real skill.
There are different wheel compounds for different skating styles they have soft compound
 For grip 75a - 79a ( I run 79a cos I don't like to slide ) and hard compound up to 84a - 86a
For sliding and the ones in between are for a bit of everything.
