New Super Administrators == more password resets
Hi folks,
Over the next week or so, a few of our long term moderators are being trained by me to take on more of the day to day administrivia of the forum.
Barls has now been trained in the Black Arts, and as such there are now at least three folks who can help you with your password reset issues.
If you know anyone who is stuck without Aussieveedubbers access, please ask them to use the "Contact Us" form again, and there's a pretty good
chance that they will be back in their account soon!
In other news, I will be adding a couple of new features to the forum soon:
a) Google+, Facebook and Twitter "share" buttons. Initially, this will be by thread as honestly, having it on each post will be a UI nightmare, but
...
b) I have decided to port the forum to CakePHP, and make it maintainable, as moving us to a new forum software is about as much work, and the
competition software is not significantly better in functionality level than what we have here right now, despite it being like 5 years out of date.
This will be a multi-month effort, and may never happen. If you code in PHP, Ajax, or know your way around CSS and HTML5, please talk to me.
In the meantime, I will be hardwiring the ability of certain users (sponsors) to post to a particular forum. If you are a current sponsor or know
someone who is, please let me know who is allowed to post to the Advertiser's forum and update your threads alive with specials and so on. I'll
contact each of the current sponsors when the hack goes in to allow sponsor posting.
thanks,
Andrew

What awesome work Andrew, it really is appreciated!
This sounds like such a silly little thing, but i know it would make so many happy. How about some more emoticons? The VW Watercooled Forum has more
than you can poke a stick at, they are pretty awesome and so much fun to use. It would make interaction a little more lively around here and give the
forum that little face lift it definitely needs.
