Restorers in Melbourne
I'm hoping for a bit of advice.
It's time for the '64 panel to go in for a resto.
I'm after a full top to tail kind of resto. Who have you all used in Melbourne? Anyone I should talk to before I decide on where to go?
Any feedback and advice is appreciated.
Cheers,
Julie-Anne

You could try VW Performance Centre in Croydon. I have not used them for a resto however I have seen a lot of their work and it is very good. No idea
how their prices compare but a full resto will not be cheap. They do most things in house but I think they outsource interiors. For the interior you
could try Busnbug. I have seen Volkomenn Art do great work as well but they might specialise in custom work. Worth giving them a call though. Main
thing is to talk to as many shops as you can to see who you are comfortable with entrusting your Veedub to
Cheers.........Wayne

I am a Sydney person and as such, have not personally used these guys
But Volkomen Art seem to do some nice work
http://vollkommenart.com/
There was a black Type 3 getting round the shows that was pretty impressive is that was the standard of their work

I know that VW Performance Centre in Croydon have done quite a number of busses. I have seen two busses that were $30,000 restorations that they have
done, and they look very nice.
They are doing a double door bus at the moment.
Ring them and have a chat.

I was at BusnBug ( http://busnbug.com/ ) the other day and I was very impressed by the
quality of work they are doing (interior trimming). Well worth a call/visit.

No matter who you are concidering to do the resto make sure that you see some of there work that is a few years old, i saw a kombi the other day that
was restored by a shop on the Sunshine coast that was busting out in rust with all the filler falling out.
