AN fittings, braided and high performance hoses *SPECIAL OFFER*
I've been using Phenix Industries hoses and fittings for many years now and being a Queensland distributer I've been seeing a good quantity of the
product. The quality in fit and finish is far superior to any other brand of AN fittings that I have used and I would like others to benifit by
converting to Phenix hoses and fittings. I'm sure everyone is feeling the pinch with the GFC and I'd like the VW quality ethic to spread all the way
to plumbing your oil and fuel systems. Phenix hoses and fittings are compatible with other AN systems so interchangeability shouldn't be a problem
with anyones present systems.
Here is a link to Phenix Industries Australia web home page, I think you'll find the site easy to navigate. http://www.phenixindustries.com.au/index.php
So here is the offer, when placing your online order, mention Matt Berry Motorsports and you will recieve 40% off the already competitive web price
(the web price is not including gst and freight).
This is a bargain offer that remains valid untill the end of December 2012 and makes using rubber hoses with barbed fittings obsolete......a no
brainer.
Mods please move this if I've posted in the incorect spot.

Good offer however I may need some help before I order. I drive a 1968 1500 Beetle. I have a Gene Berg relief valve oil pump cover, a supposedly
original EMPI filter bracket/housing and my case has been tapped for full flow, but no right angle fitting yet. If I mount the filter on the bumper
bracket under the guard, can you suggest what fittings I will need and what length braided hoses? The picture above with the Scat rocker cover looks
to be the simplest fitment with regards to lack of elbows, but I am open to suggestions, as I have never fitted full flow before.
Another question, with the filter mounted in the guard, does it need a mesh guard around it to stop stones damaging it?
Cheers.........Wayne

| I'm happy to help, but to suggest fittings there are a few more things to consider. Things like, is your engine solid mounted or
stock engine mounts, and what type of hose do you desire? If it's prone to quite a lot of movement as with std mounts, the style of fitting beside
the Scat valve cover is a safer method for long term street use. That fitting is also the cheapest option in the braided system. Another major factor
is exhaust clearance. Maybe take a pic of the area. Remember the braid is best not rubbing on things as it does wear through. Also depending on your
prefered hose style, the fittings do vary. The black cloth covered hose is more stock looking, lighter than stainless braid, yet it uses the same
fittings. On the otherhand, there is the rubber pushon style like the fittings in the last pick above, and the installation pictured below. This
system is also a cheaper and a quicker install than the braided systems. As for protection of your oil filter, thats up to you and the style of
driving you do.

Thanks Matt. Engine mounts will be stock as this is a streeter with a soon to be built 1776. Will probably go with a Vintage Speed Superflow (can you
do deals on these as well?) with heater boxes. Not really fussed with looks, just want quality hoses that won't fall off the end fittings

If you decide what style hose and colour of fittings I'll do a recomendation for you by part #. Basically you'll need 4x 3/8NPT to -8 adapters, 2x
straight, 1x 90* & 1x 45* hose fittings in -8. 2x meters of hose so you have plenty. Hose is available per meter and the hoses are generally
around 650-800mm long (and there's two).
I can also help with the Vintage Speed exhaust, I'd actually recommend the Sport version for your smaller engine mainly because they are nice and
quiet.
