steering column info
Hi guys can any advise where i can get info on replacing the top bearing on the steering column on a 1971 super bug .The shaft moves up and down an i
found bits broken plastic type stuff when steering wheel removed.I have a new top bearing to replace old one is there anything else i need.

i think the old man got the one to replace mine from tooleys.
most places carry them.

You'll most likely find the bearing is ok, they don't normally go bad, its only the plastic bushing that centers the steering shaft in the bearing
disintergrates over 41 years and you get that play.
Before you go to all the effort of replacing the bearing try it with a new bushing.
