Questions about ovals... and judsons

Now have a 56 oval in garage. Bye buggy. Got some questions...

1. Do they share torsion bars with 60s beetles? If so, what spring plates do I need? Ideally I'd like to put in some type three rear bars but is that possible?

2. How does the rear bumpstop setup work on Ovals. Mine seem to be missing.

3. What sort of oil should I put in my Judson? Where would I get it?

1. different torsion bars Type 3 wont fit from memory

2. will have to look at mine

3. Use Auto Trans fluid its 10 grade which is what Judson recomends or same as Marvelous Marvel oil
been using ATF in mine for over 20 years

Hi Pete. You can use atf as vw54 said but i prefer marvel mystery oil.It can be purchased from skyshop.com.au .It is not that expensive ,not that much more than ATF.
Iam currently rebuilding a judson in member rides.
Ovals do not have bump stops

Hi Pete

I think the oval torsion bars would be heavier than Type 3 bars, they are heavier than 40 hp bars.
