Chrome Trim Moldings bonnet and doors

Iam looking at getting the chrome strips to go on my doors, i have a 59 model but i can seem to find early ones for sale. Would these 63-66 ones work?
http://www.justkampersaustralia.com/shop/trim-kit-chrome-7-piece-j14826.html

Or if anyone know's were i can get some to fit my car?

Thanks, Tristan

the side trims will fit but the later bonnet strip will be too long.

to be anal about it the correct '59 trim are bright dipped aluminium where as the later ones are stainless steel (an australian only thing :) ) you can tell the early strips by the colour (more silver vs a blue tint), plus the bonnet strip is +/- 2" shorter and has a notch at one end to fit over the bonnet badge baseplate.

do you need just the door trims or the whole lot?

Altough saying that i know my rear lid has been changed to a later model one so maybe my front bonnet isnt original.
ill add i pic below.

it looks like an early bonnet..
early bonnet handle..

RH wipers too?
early door handles too.. 59ish..
would have had wide stainless steel strips on Australian beetles..

it will match the badge at the bottom..
up to >1968

has 1968>on front guards

LEE

Car looks good..

So the question remains can i get repo's of the trims for the early model or do i have to find standard ones someone is selling ?

Thanks for the info lee! I have a few things coming new interior trims and sunvisor should look even better then!

Also does anyone know if its possible to run eyelids and keep the grills on the headlights?

Can't say I've ever seen the two together unless the mesh had a hinge at the top and the bottom had a piece to go under the bottom screw..

You should be able to find all the stainless steel wide strips off someone on here..

for a beetle up to >1968 so there are lots of them out there
and stainless steel is quite tough ....
all beetles excepting the standards had them...

they say in that add that they fit up to 1963 which had the bonnet badges...

I have seen the wolfsburg crest badge on later cars so I don't know if the bonnet strip is actually shorter???

and whether the longer bonnet strip can be shortened..

I know nothing is impossible...lol just a darn sight harder..lol

maybe the longer strip still fits??? someone will know..
or cut it..
