Gibbs it once a year. Coatings without proper prep will do more harm than good, and tar based sealers are just a big cover up and messy job to remove.

Gibbs stops the corrosion 100%. As long as it's reapplied, better than anything else. it also improves the rubbers seals and creeps into all crevices

I am on hols so cant link to the photos. But I paid out for rustbullet.
About $100/ltr. I got it for work after a lot of reasearch. Very hardwearing and only requires loose scale to be removed.
I set up a little experiment with 1 coat on mild.steel. It is a 2 coat system. Nearly 3 years living outside under a tap=oftwn wet, the halt thats unpainted is rusted, just getting scales.now. Rustbullet looks like just painted.
Hard coat to.reaist.rock.

Send me a pm with your email and I will send photos.when bome and not teyingto type on a phone.
Brad

Tarin, I will pm you as well so you know where photos are.

I went to the yard today and the piece of 1mm mild steel that I coated with rust bullet has more corrotion that last time.
It is a 2 coat system, the first coat soaks into any inperfections and leaves tiny bubbles. The second coat seals all the bubbles.
The piece of metal in the photos below only had one quick coat brushed on as I was curious, never got eh second coat.
It is now about 3 years old and has been left sitting outside under a tap the whole time.

It is just starting to get rust staining through the rust bullet I assume in the bubble holes I never filled.

Once it is a bit more rusted I will probably do another corner directly over the rust to see how it goes as the first lot was done when it was clean steel.

I preped with wire brushing and sanding where I could then used penatrol mixed with kill rust prime.Top coated with black gloss kill rust enamel over the top, finish came up well. Brushed on, was time consuming but cost effective and did the job. How did you go with that rear seat?

Cheers, Adam

Meet a old timer today and he has a old holden owned since new. All he does every couple of years is spray the floor underside down with WD-40 ( buys it on special). Then a day or two later hits it with fish oil. the underneath is smick!! His rig is no shed queen either.

Heard of it but never used it. Rust bullet that 68Bus is talking about is good shit. Just found out that our gear at work that is continually subjected to water with high salts etc is covered in rustbullet
