Solid bolt together shafts would be a good idea too...

I don't agree, stock shaft design can handle K800 Chev springs without issue if no valve bounce occurs. With stock adjusters I'd say Frosty is way off that high a spring pressure, hence my guess is valve bounce/float has done the damage.

I rekn we should all ride over there and sit around discussing how to fix the thing over a BBQ and a beverage or 3.

My guess is either a brand new made-to-a-price part or a really good German one made in approx May 1961 (obviously on a Monday too........).

Thanks Matt, three of the washers were broken, two of the wave and one of the flat ones. The two rockers on number 4 were flopping left to right really bad, I guess that didn't help either. They are HD single springs ( have no idea what lb?) but not going to spend too much more money on this motor I will be upgrading in the next 12 months anyways.
Thanks

Have some HD rockers made up from Blueys old engine. Berg HD shaft kit, Scat swivel feet, modified stock arms. Your welcome to borrow them mate.

9 months almost to the day and i'm finished. ( I know it will never be really finished..) I'm pretty happy with the way it has turned out, i have cut one big corner though ( no nice paint job) and now i want to get out for a TNT. I will take it back to the tech guy this week and wait till 20th July for the TNT.

Thanks guys,
Yep Brendan the rims on the back are staying, I didn't think they would balance too well but they were good. They are crusty looking but the budget said they are staying (for now)
