What seats do you have in your Karmann Ghia
Just wondering what non vw seats people have in their Karmann Ghia. I have a 1960 karmann Ghia. Any photos of your interiors would be appreciated.
Also details of modifications required. Preferably would like to slot in to current rails, but open to alternatives. James

basically nothing will go stright in on your runners.
You could destroy your seats and get the base from them and bolt other seats to the base frame, could look silly as the seats will be narrower than
the base frame. Ghia seats are pretty wide!
Suggest buying new sports seats with ADR approved moounting rails and have them engineered ie mod plated.
Alternatively strip your seats bare and get a good trimmer to add extra foam and padding to reshape them and trim over the top.
Lastly get some 70 or later model Ghia seats with integrated headrest will probably need to get them from the staes as they are rare here.
Cheers,
David

Sorry I don't have pics,
but I have celica seats in my type 1 ghia, with the headrests removed before trimming, custom made low profile frame made to bolt to seats &
floor.
Ford Probe seats with a similar frame arrangement in my razor / type 3 ghia.
Spent time walking around the wreckers & measuring different car seats to get a size that worked & something I liked, both my cars have quite
low seating positions
Step up to get out !!!

I got porsche 911 buckets in my 1960 ghia.
Previous owner cut the outer original rail out and welded a frame to the floor pan
Looks to be very simple square tube.
I see if i can find a pic of the detail on my computer.
I am going to revert back to og seats .
Cheers
Steffen
