Intro "Nedsbug"
Hello fellow dubbers,
Like to intro myself and the ministers dub
My name is Corbs and the minister is Ned,
Hence Nedsbug
After searching and searching we finally found her
Its a 1972 superbug convertable
It came complete with all engineer paper work, was regoed only a couple years ago, good mags, bathurst globes, glass boot with whale tail, aftermarket
glass bumper cover thingies (whatever they are called) overall good condition, complete and running for the pricely sum of $1200
A quick glance and its pritty good overall, ableit some muppet put some seats from something else mounted via good ole fashioned alloy RHS, yay for
back yard technology,so that has to be fixed, and the front has a wee hit
looking at the damage the lower valance panel (bit between the guards ) has to be replaced, bumper cover thingy fixed or replaced, seats fixed somehow
and hopefully ,fingers crossed all goes well
Its not a weekend toy, goin for full rego on this one, more a do it while we still are able kinda thing
So far its different working on it as opposed to other brands im used to, the minister is surprised no swear words or flying spanners, yet !!!
So a couple questions if i can,
The front panel between the guards, is it a spot welded type removeable panel and an easy replacement ,doesnt look much more than that ???
Is the 1972 front panel the same as any other year models, broaden my search ???
Is it better to go with the factory style seats,or how hard are seat alteration mod plates on these (Im in QLD)
that should do for now
Corbs
Ill get some pics up soon

welcome, i had the front valance on my 62 beetle replaced by a professional body builder, also what seats are you looking at mounting? when i first
purchased my 63 it had subaru seats in it it had a mount point made up as well because they sit quite close to the floor pan. If you are looking at
keeping it original and have the factory seats the best way to give them a cheap makeover but a decent look is tmi covers. Anyway good luck
