Wtb wheel studs & brake shoe retaining pin.
Hey guys,
I need a full set of wheel studs, and one brake shoe retaining pin that fixes to the backing plate.
Long story short, after putting the wheels back in and torquing them on, one of the studs over tightened and sheared jutted out and collected the
retaining clip...
Sad fact is the wheel studs are new.
Would like to get them this weekend in Ipswich if possible otherwise I will just order new ones Monday.

Why are You replacing all the new studs??
there would be many good old studs everywhere..
where Your new studs too long??
they only need to go thru the brake drum... no longer
what model beetle: early or late
4 stud or 5 stud
Most people who work on Beetles should have a new or used brake pin.. You can buy them in kits now..

1964 model, 5 studs.
Was hoping to replace them all on the basis that these appear to be new and we still managed to shear one.
I just bought the car, I don't think it was a case of they are too long, they have an Allen key hole in the middle of them to tighten them into the
brake, and it sheared at the end of the Allen key hole.
I've actually found a pin for the brake so that will get me out of trouble for the meantime, going to get the car home and fix everything, also found
out that the link pins are rooted and the drivers side gearbox seal is leaking like a sieve.

Yikes that is bad luck..
I've never seen an allen key bolt or screw break before..
My Allen keys can be bent a lot with a bit of pipe on them.. lol
Good that You got the car going, but bad luck about the link pins...

Wheel studs you describe are not original, they are new, cheap and quite possibly, junk. What wheels are fitted? Maybe standard bolts may still be ok
depending on your wheels.

Its all good, going to get it home tomorrow then probably take it off the road for a few weeks, have abit of work I want to do to it anyway so it will
work out well. Hoping to be running standard wheels soon so I may be able to run standards lugs.
