Run cool with Hoodjax!

Who wants Hoodjax?

Hoodjax is a decklid stand-off device that I make for Beetles (all years) that pokes the top of the engine lid open for maximum airflow and cooling. Hoodjax has been proven countless times over the last 15 years to assist the cooling of high-performance big bore, stroker and turbo engined Beetles.

Around town, Hoodjax helps your engine deliver maximum acceleration at all times and reduces the 'hot idle' stumbles that often happen - especially in hot days in summer.

On the freeway, Hoodjax allows you to cruise at the speed limit on hot summer days with more 'in-reserve' cooling system capacity, for overtaking or those long, steep hills that sometimes see oil temps climb into the 'red' zone.

In many cases, Hoodjax are a cheaper alternative to the expense and hassle (and potential oil leaks!) of an external oil cooler.

Thanks to the use of quick-release R-clips, Hoodjax can be removed or replaced in seconds when conditions don't require extra cooling, or for when you wish to revert to 'stock standard' appearance. Another benefit is that your engine lid is now quickly removable for easy tune-ups and oil changes.

Written/pictorial installation instructions are provided with each Hoodjax. Hundreds of happy customers - including plenty of Forum members.

Hoodjax are zinc-passivate plated (shiny goldy colour) ready to fit, or can be painted to match your car. Cost of Hoodjax is $80 and I can organise delivery to anywhere in Australia (or international) via courier or Australia Post.

Hoodjax is a registered design: 149743

Check out Hoodjax here: (thanks to AVD member Bizarre)

Yeah I'm interested. But won't the postage cost too much for such a heavy item?

I thoroughly recommend Hoodjacks for All beetles...

they help cool down everything in the engine bay...

and that has to be a good thing...

Highly reccommended...

I have them fitted to my clubcar and whilst the greater cooling is a bonus, I like the fact that you pull two clips and the lid comes off for easy access to the engine bay without banging your head (or plural if in Tasmania)

I would rather have the engine cover open at the top
knowing My engine bay is collecting nice cool air....

Much Much more than than having the cover closed...
