Board rules

Please take a moment to review these rules detailed below. You are required to abide by and agree to all terms set out below in order to participate in our community.

Welcome! This is a friendly place for people who love air-cooled and water-cooled VWs. These rules keep it that way.

1. Be civil
Disagree about the car, not the person. No personal attacks, insults, harassment, or posts aimed at upsetting someone. No discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.

2. Keep it legal and safe
No content that breaks Australian law, including pirated manuals or software, or instructions for defeating emissions, odometers, or roadworthy requirements. Modification advice is welcome; flag anything that affects roadworthiness or registration.

3. Post in the right place
Pick the forum that best fits your topic and give your thread a clear subject (“1600 twin-port won't idle when hot”, not “Help!!!”). Search first, because many questions have already been answered. Moderators may move threads to where they belong.

4. One account each
One account per person. Don't share accounts or create new ones to get around a ban or warning.

5. No spam or advertising
No unsolicited advertising, affiliate links, or repeated posts. Business owners: ask the admins about sponsorship before promoting your business. Members may recommend businesses they've used.

6. Photos and copyright
Only post photos you took or have permission to use. Consider hiding number plates and other people's faces if you'd rather not identify them. Keep images family-friendly.

7. Privacy
Don't post anyone's personal details (address, phone, rego, workplace) without their permission, and don't share private messages publicly without the sender's agreement.

8. Signatures and profiles
Keep signatures short and free of advertising. Profile pictures and titles must be family-friendly.

9. Moderation
Moderators may edit, move, lock, or remove posts, and warn or ban members who break these rules. Repeated warnings lead to a temporary ban. If you disagree with a decision, use Contact us rather than arguing in public threads.

10. Report, don't retaliate
If you see a post that breaks the rules, use Report on the post rather than replying to it.
