Bumper bar refurb

Finally scored some late original VW bumpers the other day.
In Brisbane but by chance my mate was there so a quick call and he brought them back for me.
Chrome is excellent but the inside was worse for wear and a few ripples on the front

Anyway....

some polish..... hammer work......sanding......etch promer and some hammertone paint.

Love this stuff. Suppose to be rust resistant/sealant and a great brush on finish.
The primer bonded like......well seems to have really stuck

Didnt quite get ALL the ripples out

Its a VW Brazil OEM header.

Not that great, but not crap either. Cheaper than stock set up.
I had a stock exhaust with flared tips and it broke so I went for this mainly cause it was a header type and you dont have tips seperate.

The sound isnt as good as the flared tips and there is no chance in power but i reckon economy is 5-10% better.
Strange .... but i keep check on my economy and it has improved since the change

good job on those bumpers! and good tip on the rustproofer too! Our non-VW car could use that on its bumpers....
