VW FOOL'S 56 OVAL (SOLD)
The day has finally come and its time to sell my beloved 1956 Oval Window Beetle.
This ends a near 4 year relationship, one in which i’ve tried to return her to original as much as possible.
I have managed to collect all the correct Oval era parts she was missing when I found her including a mint W deck lid, radio block off plate, Oval
headlights, half Bat wing steering wheel, semaphores, Oval front and rear seats, small over rider front and rear bumpers, new fuel tank, new heavy
duty running boards, 80 mph speedo, correct flat badge bonnet, Wolfsburg bonnet emblem, correct bonnet VW badge, SEKURIT window glass with chrome trim
on the window rubbers etc.
The car has also had the IRS chassis it was on swapped for a 55/56 Oval pan in excellent condition as I wanted the original wide 5 and drum brakes
instead of ugly (on an Oval) 4 stud, BJ beams and discs etc.
This car was built to be driven and driven she was. She has always been my daily driver and never let me down. She aint timid and she likes to get
around; driven to Valla twice, The Nationals and Shootout the past 3 years, down to Melbourne and back for the Day of the VW late last year as well as
on many DNVK Club Cruises. Many hours have i sat in her trusty lap, just me and her and a stretch of highway ahead.
At the moment she rolls on nice chrome 356 rims, 4.5 fronts with new 135s and 5.5 rears on good 165s. Runs an AVIS adjustable front beam.
Have had HOODJAX fitted so u can pop the engine lid open at the top or remove it in seconds for engine work. I want to sell all of my accessories with
it so i have no more reminders of my beloved to get me down, this includes my red vent window Breezies, iron cross jack plugs, curb feeler, accessory
headrest, Big Logo Hubcaps, EMPI trigger short shifter, headlight eye lids, Coca Cola Esky, Robri style stone guards, glove box lock and anything else
I can find you in my garage that reminds me of her.
Also comes with trick stealth stereo install with glove box mounted Alpine CD player etc. May also sell it with my custom made vintage Suitcase Sub
Box which houses 2 x 10 inch Rockford Fosgate PUNCH series subs. The suction cup wood slat roof rake may also be part of the deal, depends on how
badly you want it.
Everything works on her except the wipers are still 6 volt so I advise you to use them intermittently. I find RainEx works better than wipers anyway.
This can be fixed of course with an inverter or something; I just never got around to doing it. Semaphores have not been fitted but they have
excellent lenses. I was going to wait till after I had the car full rewired before I fitted them, but the Hella replacements work great at the
moment.
For convenience the car has a strong rebuilt 1600 twin port motor and an excellent 1500 gearbox and she has been converted to 12 volt. Have recently
fitted a chrome 36HP fan shroud with cooler and an Alternator. I have also had a Rattler Car Alarm and Immobiliser with black wiring professionally
fitted.
2 years ago I had abit of fun with her and dressed her up in Taxi decals. She loved all the extra attention and got loads of looks everywhere we went.
she even got a photo in Volksworld magazine which was cool!
Last year Adam C and I decided on a change and had some fun respraying her in Ghetto Schwartz Black and Gloss Red. Despite her Hoochie appearance
there is no rust in this car. The pans are perfect and have a protective layer on the underside. Although rust free and complete she is not perfect.
She wears 50 years of battle wounds and scars and I consider her an ongoing project. I think I have overcome most of her major issues but there are
little things here and there that will keep you busy if you want to fondle her.
Recent work is a full brake bleed and adjustment, fitted a cigarette lighter for ur phone charger, new axle rubber boots, oil change, new leads and
plugs and a tune up. Because the ride height was illegally low in the eyes of the NSW Police Department the rear suspension has been professionally
raised and aligned since these photos were taken.
But you get the idea of how hot she can look
I have literally Gigabytes of photos of this little lady, whether it be relaxing at the beach, having a cruise with friends, enjoying a day of fishing
by the lake, sightseeing at the Big Banana and even during every major surgery she has experienced.
There’s so many memories im getting all teary…
I’m open to serious offers of $7000 ono so dont be scared to tell me what u think, but any bullshit on this post will be removed immediately.
Feel free to ask me any questions or for any specific photos.
I’m listing it on the forum first before I take it to the classifieds so you guys get first shot.
Send U2U or email to: vwfool@hotmail.com and ill give u my number if you want to chat. rego till July. Located in Sydney but can deliver to Newcastle
etc. or freight at buyers cost.
Regards
Sam

PS: i will need alot of moral support during this emotionally draining time in my life, all my mates out there please help me to be strong...

I'm guessing you're going to miss this baby. Lets hope someone keeps her look the same. Good work and good luck.
