Dual 40mm Dellortos and linkage/air filters SOLD

Carbs and linkage are sold to first person who expressed interest. Cheers for your interest.

Name: Alan Agyik
Item: Dual 40mm Dellortos with update kit (CB performance) + linkage and air filters
Condition: Excellent
Location: Gold Coast
Contact: U2U, alanagyik@hotmail.com
Cost: $650 or try your luck on ebay and maybe get them cheaper:

These carbs have been fully rebuilt and run for a short period on my fully restored 2L type IV VW Beetle (pictured). This was a show car (on the cover of a recent VWMA magazine) and although was driven often, it was maintained immaculately. A new gasket kit was put through each carb including o-rings on all jets/mixture screws etc. Most importantly a CB Performance udpate kit (US$129) has been installed in each carb which converts them to horizontal discharge tubes (for more efficient circulation of air and fuel) - this results in more power at lower RPM and extended performance at higher speeds. The extended idle jet stack solves the problem of clogged idle jets which is a problem for these carbs at times in stock form.

I am converting to EFI and therefore no longer need the carbs. The guesswork in tuning has been taken out of the equation as the jets have been selected carefully, accelerator pump has been dialled in correctly, float levels have been adjusted as per the Dellorto Superformance book guidelines, and new venturis installed as part of the update kit. These carbs served my mild 2L engine perfectly, but would suit a 1776, 1835 or 1916 engine just as well (depending on heads/valves/cam etc).

Up for sale is this CB Performance cross bar linkage kit for air cooled VWs. This linkage kit provides you with mechanically correct, precise throttle control. The one-piece air filter/linkage bases are offset for straight manifolds (as pictured here on my type IV 2L engine). The aluminium hex bar throttle linkage is beautiful and functional (and a second longer steel hex bar comes with it as this one has been cut to fit my type IV spacing). This linkage kit works with all 4 1/2" x 7" OD air cleaner elements which are available in Heights from 1 1/8" to 9". As pictured are 3 1/4" filters which are included with the linkage kit, along with the original chrome stamped Dellorto filter tops (these are not perfect but still in good condition). The linkage has been polished up nicely.

price dropped

Here are the carbs on my old ragtop - they've been sitting in a cupboard since I sold the rag.

Yeah the price is pretty low because I have to move these things pretty quickly - especially with the update kit they are even more of a bargain (the kit alone cost me US$130 plus freight from the US).
