Anybody used CIP1.com before?
I'm looking at buying some replacement sheet metal parts off them, just wondered if anyone has used them before, quality, service etc, or if anyone
has any more recommendations.
They sell the rear corners which is what I've been after
Cheers in advance peeps

Great to deal with. Very quick to deliver and easy to navigate the website.
The only criticism I have is they can be expensive on shipping but all in all, great range and prices.

Yup, expensive on shipping I found, but they're a large company so if you have any problems they're not going to niggle over
replacements/compensation
Good customer service too I found.

I agree, great to deal with. For some reason the duty i paid when i got stuff mailed was cheaper or non existant if it was under $200 i think, anyway
it was cheaper if i broke orders up into smaller lots.

unfortunately most companies ship with fedex or ups. great for shipping within the states but to oz at this end they charge big $ for handling and
duty. if possible get it shipped by the US postal service and keep the value low, cheap and no duty.

Not really.
The shipping is expensive because this is how they make up for the cheap prices. From memory they use UPS or Fedex only, not 100% sure. I've used
other US suppliers who used USPS and the shipping was heaps cheaper and just as quick.
On large parts and heavy parts shipping is going to be expensive, no matter who you use. But some of these companies will rip you off when it comes to
shipping.
For example, I got a quote from CB Performance for a couple of carb parts, valued at $30US (would fit in a small envelope) they quoted me $70US for
freight, yeah that sounds about right, not.

I don't mind paying the shipping prices, like you say it's coming from miles away! so I wouldn't expect any less.
Prices are comparable really, it was more to do with the quality of the sheet metal, decent etc.
Might be able to get the rear corners from thebusstop.com yet anyways

Good to know as i was thinking of ordering some springs/shocks from them. They seem quite cheap (especially with the Oz dollar so high at the
moment), but that'll be diminished once freight and duties are paid.
Is there anyway to gauge what the import duties are likely to be before ordering?

Just did a mock order on CIP1 and noticed that you only seem to have the option of choosing air freight. I thought you'd also be able to go be sea
and save some $$$ ???

That is the only problem with CIP1. Their prices are great and their service is good, but they only ship via DHL, UPS or FedEx so their shipping
costs are very high. I have asked them specifically to use other methods of airfreight eg USPS which are much cheaper but they refuse claiming that
too much stuff goes missing.
As far as import duty goes I have never been charged duty on any import. Having said that all the shipments I have had have been less than $300. I
suppose the amount of duty they get on this isn't worth the admin costs of collecting it.
Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.
