My newest purchase !!now for sale!!
Hi everyone,
I was down at my local wreckers looking for a type 3 front stub axle when I came across an old wolseley, didn't look too bad so I
thought I'd ask how much.
Anyway the boss came over to the back of the yard with me to have a look at it and he quoted me $450 for it. He then said "are you looking for a
project?" I said yes and he told me to follow him. He took me out to the locked section which is form employees only and shows me this 1956 Diamler
Conquest. He tells me that it was dropped off last week and it was made in 1956 but hadn't been rego'd since 1967. It was only missing the rear diff
and was solid as. So I bought it. Talk about different to the bay window I am currently working on. The tacho shows 85 miles on it but I don't know
if this is correct but looking at the engine it looks like it might be!
The only work that has been done on it is the semaphores have been bogged up so I will be releasing them of their burden soon.
I have attached some pics for you to enjoy.
The next question is does anyone know where I can get a rear diff for a 1956 Diamler Conquest. thanks
Enjoy

Good luck with the Lucas "prince of darkness" electrics. Is it a postive earth car? (pommy favourite at that time)

Can't believe what some people throw away, for the sake of a phone call to an enthusiast organisation it gets a trip to the wreckers instead.

Reminds me of a trip to the wreckers a few years back. there was a one owner rust free Fiat 1500, still had plastic on the seats and doors and all
handbooks in the glovebox. Even had some rare extras fitted.
yard was willing to sell for $500, I wasnt in the market for it so I notified the Fiat club. not one person was interested, even guys who had 1500's.
It probably got crushed a few weeks later.

thats when you buy it anyway, put it in dry storage, and have it sold in your will and give the proceeds to your kids

The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
Lucas denies having invented darkness. But they still claim "sudden, unexpected darkness"
Lucas--inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
Lucas--inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
The three-position Lucas switch--DIM, FLICKER and OFF.
The other three switch settings--SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.
The original anti-theft devices--Lucas Electric products.
If Lucas made guns, wars would not start either.
It's not true that Lucas, in 1947, tried to get Parliament to repeal Ohm's Law. They withdrew their efforts when they met too much resistance.
Why do the English drink warm beer? Lucas made the refrigerators, too.
Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone.
Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb.
Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.
Recommended procedure before taking on a repair of Lucas equipment: check the position of the stars, kill a chicken and walk three times sunwise
around your car chanting: "Oh mighty Prince of Darkness protect your unworthy servant."
Lucas systems actually uses AC current; it just has a random frequency.
How to make AIDS disappear? Give it a Lucas parts number.
Why so much affront to Lucas? Cos I also have a BSA motorcycle! Good luck with the project, looks great!

I guess some people don't like Lucas products. This car is going to be a long long term project as I am in no rush to finish it, my more immediate
project is the solid 73 fasty that I am picking up this saturday.

Well Guys, due to too many projects on the go I have decided to sell this baby. I am looking to get back what I paid for it so I am selling her for
$2500obo. It still hasn't got a rear diff but I might be able to source one is pressed. Besides the rear diff the rest of the car is complete and
just needs to be put back together. There are a couple (literally 2) of tiny holes of rusr but it was treated early and hasn't flaked.
So if your interested feel free to make an offer
