help on a 36HP head

If anyone happens to have a 36HP head lying around beside their computer, you can help me out.

I'm after the centre distance between the studs for the inlet manifold.

Thanks, Angus

Not sure how accurate the measurement must be, but I make it 58mm.

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Greg, thanks for that. Just double-checking that dimension is stud-centre to stud-centre?

I need to compare with a 40HP head for some dual-carb inlet manifolds I've come across. I measured the 40HP as about 58mm as well just with a 6" rule.

its not the head stud size its the mainifold size into the head

the 40hp are slightly bigger than 36hp so you may be able to grind down

** These are Riechert from Germany. ** do u have a pic of these ??? I think i have a set of 36hp ones

Dave

I had a photo showing them on a 40HP engine, which I've managed to accidentally delete. I've bought them with a box of bits from Europe, they are on their way now so I can send a picture when I get them.

Dave

The manifolds etc have turned up, I'll take some photos and put them up over the next couple of days. Quick trial fit in the dark on my 40HP looks OK.

Here are some photos of the bits and bobs I picked up. There was a complete set I looked at as well but it turned out to be for a 1500.

These manifolds fit well on my 40HP, have extended studs and a few jets etc to muck around with tuning. Just missing the crossbar really, and obviously the carbs.

I was goind to start up another thread tonight on possible re-build options for it, interested to see what others have tried.
