2110cc Type 1 Engine For Sale

I have decided to give my green bug to my daughter (she is very excited) for her first car so I will be selling the 2110 engine and installing a 1600TP motor.

Details:
AS41 case bored for 90.5mm Mahle barrels and “B” pistons.
10mm case savers installed.
CB Performance 82mm Counterweight Crankshaft.
CB Performance 5.4 inch “H” beam rods.
Lightened Flywheel (13lbs)
Near new Sachs Clutch and Pressure plate.
All parts professionally balanced.
CB Performance 044 (40x35.5) heads ported and valves unshrouded.
Intake manifolds match ported.
Engle 110 cam.
Chromoly pushrods with 1.1 rockers on Empi solid shafts and Bugpak Swivel Feet.
Compression is set at a healthy 9.0:1.
Oiling is handled by a full flow pump with external (Mesa style) 96 plate cooler in addition to the doghouse cooler and also an external filter.
Carburetion is dual Dellorto DRLA 40mms with 36mm venturis and recent rebuild kits (includes spare 32mm venturis and jets)
Custom made stainless and aluminium Throttle linkage featuring full roller bearings.
Unifilter air cleaners.
Ignition is Bosch 009.
Inch and a half merged header.
Engine breather to alloy tappet covers, oil filler and fuel pump block off.
(temp and pressure sender not included)

Motor has done 2500 miles since new.

This engine would make a fantastic street engine for a bug or bus.

I will be leaving the engine in the bug for one month to allow for rides to serious prospective buyers.

Price $6500.00 or very near offer.

Make a great turbo combo!
Very Cheap, similar to my setup and 1/2 the price.
Someone buy it

It's cheap because other than the machining and balancing I did all the labor (including porting) myself. If I was to charge labor ... hmm. I got the enjoyment out of the build of the whole car over 28 months. The linkage alone was 20 hours to hand make (but it will never wear out).

I purchased the parts over a 12 month period before building it. (I have receipts if someone wants to view them).

I've been in this car powered by this motor as well, very tourqey engine with heaps of potential , I also saw it go together & the attention to detail was second to none & your not even paying for that in the price!
It would cost $10000 plus from a vw performance workshop.

The engine had only done 500 miles at the time of the dyno day in March.

It got 83.5 RWH at 4500rpm on that day but I had it running very rich at the time (new engine and it was not taken past 5k.

Since then I have changed from 32 to 36mm venturis, rejetted and added a fully merged exhaust. Have not Dynoed it since but I guess it now makes somewhere in the mid nineties. Would probably make that HP below 5000rpm still.

Ratio 1.25 rockers would be an excellent addition to this engine.

Regards

Brendan

Here is closeup of the left side linkage showing the roller bearing block. Hacksaw and file! Just about every nut and bolt are 316 stainless (not headstuds or main thru bolts).

Bump and thanks for looking.

With a properly merged header, carb mods and run in, it would be a totally different engine...heaps more power. I bet it had heaps of torque...Good Luck

Yep Jak I am imaginative!

Here's a pic of the 250psi oil lines and external filter (mounts on the bumper bracket). The exhaust is now a fully merged 1 1/2 since this pic was taken.

People have to take in account how much a motor like this takes to cost to build, this is is a great buy!!
If I didn't have one on the go, I'd be up for this.
new 1776 = 4k at least
add it up....
+ it's a turn key, good value...

Thanks the for positive words guys. A lot of effort went into this engine and I'm really only pricing it for the parts and not my labor.
