The Bronzes Drop Bear.
NoFrills and No Worries. A projct coming together. I doubt it will ever be finished.
Drop Bear the 71 Baja is a wild weekender set up for offroad, long distance weekends and night driving.
All electricals, braking and suspension has been upgrarded with mild mechanical modification to the stock 1600tp mill for reliability. With only
extractors, a 4-2-1 exhaust and a 32PICT-2 breathing through an industrial donaldson airfilter.
A regular throughout central NSW and Stockton Beach near Newcastle. It will get to as many VW events over the coming months as time and money become
more available.
Check back again soon as i will have Video footage hosted on YouTube and a dedicated website just for the Drop Bear.
Please post and let me know what you think.
The Bronze.
PS- I'm chasing a cheap 2nd hand motor if you have a spare one.

hey hey long live th dog o war..... oops, the drop bear
Great work bronze, looks exactly like a baja should - no frills and very functional. Love the photos, especially the ones showing how great a
departure angle you have and the aritculation on the front end (ie wheel dangling in space...)
Good stuff

It's only really half done. I haven't put the scratches down the sides, roo blood and guts all over the front, mud on the roof and Garret Turbo
pokeing out the top of the engine bay. All still yet to come in the months and years ahead.
Drop Bear the ongoing project.
This weekend we are doind some filming and taking some action shots. What we need is a drought so we can have plenty of dust and dead grass flicking
up from the surface of the Earth as it scratches it's marks here, there and everywhere. Oh hang on, were in a drought. Oh, Ok, plans are still on for
this weekend then. Unless it rains - Then I can add the mud to the roof.

Just about to go to bed - I'll write the brand and size down tomorrow for you. Remind me if I forget..
These are good tyres as the walls arn't to thick and they buldge nicely in the sand. I can go as low as 5psi and they stick tight. No herd turns
though just in case. Don't want to peel them off the bead out there.

Thanks Lee.
My tyres are all redial "Kelly Safari AWR" with 30x9.5 (4 ply) on the rear and P205/75R15's (2ply) on the front.
Although I can fit slightly bigger these came with the car (6 years ago) and have been faultless. They are 30% worn. They stick like poo to a doonah,
never had a puncture (Touch wood), never peeled off the bead and squash down nicely on the walls for driving in the sand.
I have seen other brands where buggies just do not have enough weight to get their tyre walls to fold down. When I buy my next tyres in about 10 years
at the rate these are wearing I will be looking closely at the walls and then the tread pattern.

Here is the vid we made today. It's only short as we were running out of light. I have never done one of these before so it was a learning
experience. Might have another go tomorrow with a little more footage and time.
