Ok guys, here are some pics so far.

As you know this first one is how i found it.

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/58KAFER/166.jpg

A super nice start as it is solid , driving & got rego. Drove it home

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/58KAFER/kidschristening162.jpg

here is the car in my mates work shop, its getting the front end lowered, came down by two clicks.
also took the opportunity to spray the wheel wells with some SKS black, to keep it looking neat & protect the metal till a repaint at a later date.
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/58KAFER/kidschristening172.jpg

here is the car with its front end lowered, nothing silly, just enought to make it look better.

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/58KAFER/kidschristening178.jpg
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r39/58KAFER/kidschristening179.jpg

heres the car all sitting at its new ride , it has also been up on the hoist & had a full service and the breaks done.
i have put the original radio back in the dash, so now that is looking sweet too.

Next, we will be spraying the roof, in the new Holden mica black, like the put on the SS. i think the grey & black combo will look tidy.

After that it a set of new tyres, 145's & 165's, which will be getting some red walls and the wheels will get a new set of bueaty trims & hubcaps.

so, ill keep the pics comming as the changes happen.

Considering what i piad for it, and the condition i got the car in to start with .... YES .... it was the bargin of a life time.

i had looked at other over the years for more than double what i paid, and they were all in alot worse condition than this one.

Looks great Finn but cant u paint the roof in a VW black?

Keep it all original like the paint Finn instead of using Holden paint.

Will look good either way:tu:

XXX-1.8t, yeah i know that would be good to use VW black, but he has stock of the GM paint there in the shop & i dont wanna be a pain in the backside.

it will still look good once its on the car, and besides its only gotta last about 2 years , then i'll take the car off the road, pull it apart and give it a full resto.

Looking good Finn. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
Yep......a Mica Black will look wonderful! I look forward to the results!
Just a quick hint for when the time comes.....When you ask for red walls to be put on, make sure that Derryl does red.....I ordered red for Boris and got white!

Hi guys and girls, sorry its been a while but i have been with out a PC for the last 3 weeks.

Here are a couple of more pics of the car.

I have now put on new Nangkangs 145's & 165's i had them red walled, while i was at it i polished the original hub caps & beauty trims and painted the center logo of the hub caps to match the red walls.

I have also polished the original paint and it has come up a treat ..... did both to polish the roof as i'll be painting it black very soon.

with the new tyers on the car i can see i am going to have to lower it again as now its just not sitting right.

I will also be spraying the underside of the pan & rear wheel wells with SKS black to protect the metal and cut out a bit of extra road noise.

Also i have gone and bought a new set of front & rerar shocks & new tie rod ends ( inner & outer ) and these will be installed this coming week , more pictures to follow soon. Anyway thats about it, other than i am LOVING driving it, it is so sweet to roll in this, it drives like a dream.

Here are some pictures od Derel of WHITE WALLS SA (mobile) 0427 715 380 doing his thing ... he is a top bloak and dose a great job and he gets around in a Transporter. :) he is one of US !

really good man, we are loving SA & the VW people here are a really good group of people.
But all in all SA is great no longer struggling like we were in Sydney, for the first time in a long time we can see a way ahead. So yeah .... Loving it.
