Good stuff Jak, I am sure this thread would help people make up their mind on the type of engine when considering a conversion. Just checked out the link........... those black wheels are just too bad!!

Great read Jak.
About the 39mpg
Ive always thought mine was real economical, ive never checked but think it would be around that or better.
Im running 3.88 RP and for some reason mine runs past 7500 sometimes, on the stock ECU.
These things love to rev heh!
Or maybe its just me.

yeah its hard to rev to 6000rpm on the street as all the cars seem to be moving real slow in front of you:lol:

:lol::crazy::lol::crazy::lol:
car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. :fakesniff:

Interesting, id like to do those mods on the exhaust and inlet. Ive read they make a small difference, I had no idea it would be anything like a big improve.
Yeah sometimes I get carried away at the drags and hold 3rd thru the traps or maybe just asleep during gear changes.
I have no idea where peak torque is, but your probably right at about 6000.
The engine was definately more lively at normal road speeds when I had the 4.12 in it. With the 3.88 it seems a bit more lazy, but still enough to get me into plenty of trouble.:lol:
