My Beast! 1974 Beetle L-series

Hey Hey all!
Bought this beauty about a year ago for $700, as it didnt come with an engine or gearbox.
After tonnes of procrastination and a hell of allota work she is just about roadworthy for just over $4000!
Its a 1974 L-series Beetle geared with a 1600 twin port engine which has been well looked after...
Ive pimped it with some 'checkerboard' vinyl for the flooring with a matching pillow....
And whats a VW without fluffy dice...
For my first car... I'm Lovin' it lol =)

well done...

how about a pic of the engine...?

if the bumpers are rusted...
rub the rust off with wet & dry paper then paint it with
a pressure pack etch coat or primer then paint them a satin black... not too glossy - not to flat..

if done properly they will not rust again...
do behind the bumpers too with etch primer..

cheers

LEE

thats the main thing to be able to drive it.... lol

if the bumpers are brazillian made

buy some good car wax and wax them every week or so to stop them going rusty...
I use Meguairs canubra wax on one of mine...
I've had it for a few years without going rusty...
but as soon as I stop waxing it won't last long...

cheers

LEE

Oh shes on the road alright, glad to say i got it regoed a couple months ago...
I was only just recently on my Learners so the most driving i could do with it was down the driveway do a u-turn and back up again (without the old man supervising )

And dave: i have two pioneer speakers in the backseat passenger panels and am going to buy a sub to add some doof doof to her.

nice. from what i have seen in bugs it is best to avoid putting it behind the seat, facing into the seat because you lose sound quality. My one sounds pretty good atm. Just depends how you want to build your box i guess
