My Beetle Now For SALE

This is my bug. It was a 1500 autostick until 2001 when it got a 1600 manual. It has been resprayed from safari beige to metalic gray. The door panels and seats were red, now the seats have black seat covers and the panels are now black. The steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake handle are all timber. I have pedal covers and checkerplate panels on the drivers side. I have running boards on the way. The only mod ive done to the engine is removed the baffels from the tailpipes. The stereo consists of 2 12" subs and 4 6.5" speakers. They are all mounted in the parcel shelf area. Here are some pics, ive still got some work to do but im just happy that i can drive it around at the moment.

Here is my brothers 64 ive begun workin on. It has sat still for twenty something years. No rust except for the spare wheel well. It has the stock motor, it runs well once its started. It needs some major wiring repairs but im getting there with it. Its gunna be a total classic resto. Here are some pics.

Both cars look great. The 64 looks to be in exceptional condition.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted on the progress.

Y eah the 64 is. Its got no rust except some surface rust which im gunna leave for now. Got a few little dings but they will all be repaired soon.

Its on jax at the moment all wheels off engine out. Getting the brakes done in the next few weeks.

Engine it out to give it a good clean underneath and probbaly a good coat of think tar stuff to lower road noise.

Also im changing the engine tin screws to allen key heads so they can be undone easier.

Okay, the grey one went in its first show today. Wasnt gunna then thought screw it. Got some good looks. It will be going in the show and shine at the vw nationals, so will the blue one hopefully, maybe as a bit of a rat/resto. So far the engine is out of the 64 and its getting its clutch done this week. Nedds a master cylinder and maybe wheel cylinders and will be up for rego. But thats it for now.

beautiful, at the end of the day with how cheap mdf is you could try a few different setups, im sure youll come up with something pretty sweet... do yourself a favour and even if you intend to carpet your mdf i would seal it on both sides including ALL edges even in the holes where the speakers fit inside, it should last heaps longer... if you hit it up with some nice carpet, you could even just use a roller with some old leftover paint. the last thing you want is for your woodwork to start rotting. for $100 them supposable 5500watt amps go alright...i was running my whole system on my vn with that amp, rockford fosgate 2x 12inch p1 subs in enclosure 6.5in rears and 6.5in splits up front.... was all gonna get changed at a later date, later dates never come with stuff like that, not for me anyway

Keep up the good work

Here is a pic of the new exhaust, its not completely finished yet but itll be higher when im finshed, sounds good cause cant really hear the vw engine noise till im higher up in the revs, so can sit at lights with a nice noisey tone. Ive also got a tacho to mount but pics will be soon.

if your going to show it you might want to do something about the stereo wiring and that bunch of graps you have going on under the bonnet. Im not knocking you but if you want to get serious about showing your car you need to start with the basics like very tidy wiring or hide it if possible, i have been showing cars fairly successfully over the past 10 years or so.

There is a article on the vw-resource website about how changing to a non stock air filter can have adverse affects on crank case ventilation. Wether these effects are that serious or not, I wouldn't have a clue. But anyway *HERES* a link to the page. Hope this helps. Your car is turning out real nice and that cannon gives it a very nice exhaust note:tu: Nice boxer rumble:lol:

Okay, im not changing filters now because i found why it was spilling oil, someone had wired the flaps open so oil could slide out. Fixed it now so all good, And im impressed with the note its putting out. And im happy to be able to fix the little things on my own.
Here is a couple pics of the tacho.

Well since i took pics that light actually broke but im getting new ones but bit higher up.

I had electrical issues not to long ago and got a auto electrics place to do the wiring of the stereo so its only on when the key is on.
I just put a switch in which you can see next to the tacho just and wired the lights threw that. And a wire to the stereo power.
