Any tyre that holds air and has tread does the job for me as a spare :). i mean... its a spare...

Cars over 2 decades old tend to loose the manual...
I've learnt my lesson though.

They kinda don't teach ya these things in driving school, nor does the rwc inspector look at the spare tyre. go figure...

Having done several advanced driver training courses, one course in passenger cars the other course for 4wd's, I can vouch for the importance of getting tyre pressures right, and once you learn the basics you can confidently manage your tyres without referring to glovebox manuals or tyre pressure placards.

Just doing the 'swerve, brake & stop' test with different tyre pressures will blow people away about how important tyre pressures are.

2 important rules:
Never buy tyres on price alone,
and never trust tyre pressure guages at service stations ( buy a good one and look after it).

One qeustion what brand was this tyre, my brother bought a charade and its rear tyre was split about where thr tread would meet the frame of the tyre. Then when i bought my rims this week a same brand tyre had the same problem in the same spot.

That's pretty good advice there by Uber Kafer (above), Josh. Just remember - you have 4 fairly small patches of rubber between you and oblivion, try to make them as good as possible!

Cheers, Greg

Im going to get new tyres on my rims anyway as the were all bald and im gunna try get potenzas as they seem to be really good.
