Axle oil leak?
Hi All
I've got a problem with an oil leak on the RH rear. Changed the seals and everything twice. Put a different collar in for the seal to run on. Any
other ideas?

seems odd...
but the only explanation I know if a seal keeps leaking after being renewed...
did You lubricate the seal first..??
I usually dip My finger in oil and wipe it onto the seal so its lubricated...
otherwise they can wear out in a few minutes due to friction..
never ever heard of it happening... but it can..
cheers

Thanks for replies. Used O-ring lube for seal, torqued axle nut properly. The seal is leaking just sitting there as car hasn't been driven. Noticed
the seal kits I've been getting have a pretty crappy o-ring for the axle though.

It's important to have the correct bearing cap for the axle tube. Also paint on the backing plate or anywhere that the gaskets sit, and you can use
both paper gaskets to get a better seal.
