2nd that Dave. Not only is he good at his job, but also very helpful.

I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

I live near Kyneton Vic. There is Bendigo electro plating. But I have no idea how good they are?

As for location does it really matter? It would cost like 3 buks to post it where ever it would need to go.

It does a bit if you need to chase something up, a guy lost my Valve Blaupunkt radio for a year...needed to go down to his workshop and physically find it .....not in business anymore.....and not isolated incident

Found me self a excellent chrome platter. Bendigo electro patting do an awesome job and the old fashion way, like a 7 or 8? step process.
after they do a multiple step chemical and mechanical cleaning they plate with copper, grind repair and sand it, re-plate with copper, polish it smooth then etch, then nickle plate.
Repeat polish and etch then final chrome. They showed me some of the stuff in the middle of processing and my god the copper plate and nickle are thick.

Like a layer of paint thick  Not too expensive considering the quality. They have been doing it for over 30 years, same people too.

Small stuff like rings, trim, bit on the engine blah blah would be under 100 buks. larger thing like bumpers are expensive. try $400 per large bumper about 300 for smaller ones. But worth it for the good chrome :spin:

They are going to do my gauge bezel and head like reflectors for now. 3 plate on the bezel (Cu,Ni,Cr) and 2 plate on the reflectors (Cu,Ni) They recon reflectors are a no no for chrome and are nickle only.
