Porerra & porega moulds

hi all, ever now than then some one posts pictures of these kits on avdbs and they attract widely varying comments.

anyway some time ago Andy, a mate of mine, purchased the moulds for these kits. Unfortunately he passed away this week after a short battle with the big C.

His partner has asked me what to do with the moulds and my first reaction was dump them but given they are part of Aussie VW history I thought I would post on here and see if anyone was interested in them.

so if anyone has an interest or wants to see some photos then now is your chance. It is likely they will end up in the tip by this time next week. And I am sure Deb, Andy's partner won't be looking for big dollars.

this is a photo of the chop top version but there is also a hard top version as well.

anyway, just putting it out there......

Hi Steve, yep that's them. The cars are now with the scrappy. I think they were going to put the red one on fleabay but it is pretty rusty. I think it is a 59 model. Note this red one is not a porerra but a normal chop beetle. If you want to talk to them 3284 4996 and ask for Glen or Craig and tell them I sent you....

Turboty is right the pererra bodied car which was also red belonged to Dave and he also had a short wb J&S buggy as well. Dave took all his cars out a month ago but the moulds and a few other bits belonged to Andy.

I went up there is arvo and all the moulds have been sorted into groups. I will take some pictures over the weekend but looks like there are 3 or 4 sets and may also be a couple of variations, ie, slant nose/pop up[ light verses 911 style front.

Deb is happy to sell as a lot or as individual sets. She is looking for offers but this is a bit hard without knowing whats there. Anyway the funeral is tomorrow so nothing much will happend till next week I'd say.

Dave,

I know you may still be affected by the drugs they fed you for your operation and not thinking clearly, but whether you or I or anyone else like these or not they are still linked to VW's in the past.

I personally don't like them, but there may be some that love them. As you know we all have different preferences, just like you love woman. Some love the same sex, not that there is anything wrong with that :lol::lol::lol::lol:

And I am a bit of a les'o myself as I love woman :yes::yes::yes::yes: Shit, I am getting off track here.

I don't think they should see the grave pit and who knows in 50 years maybe the next vw generation may go for them. Just like fashion, things come and go.

I vote, save them. But not for me

My 2c

Kev

I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!

finally got around to geting some pics.

Deb is keen on all offeres either for the whole lot or seperate sets. Not sure what is there as there are heaps of moulds. I think there is also one finished set of front and rears but not entierly sure.

I'll load the pics as I took them and generally I think I took 2 per set. I'll try and answer any questions but it might be best to call me if you are interested.

PM me and I'll send you my number...
