- Start your subject with the For sale prefix, followed by the item and your state, e.g. “1971 Beetle gearbox — NSW”.
- Include a price (or “offers over” a figure), the item's condition, your general location, and whether you'll post or prefer pickup. “Make an offer” with no figure isn't allowed.
- Include at least one photo of the actual item you're selling, not a catalogue picture.
- Describe faults honestly. Items must be yours to sell and legal to sell. No stolen parts, no items without a VIN or with tampered numbers, and no weapons or prohibited goods.
- For whole vehicles, state the registration status (registered, unregistered, written-off or statutory write-off), and include the VIN or chassis number so buyers can check it on the PPSR.
- One thread per item or batch of items. Bump your thread at most once every 7 days.
- When sold, edit your first post to start the subject with Sold, or ask a moderator to lock the thread. Threads with no activity for 90 days may be closed.
- Private sellers only. Businesses need the admins' permission to sell here.
- Use the Wanted prefix for things you're looking for, with what you'll pay if you know.
- Don't post in someone's sale thread to criticise their price. If you think it's too high, don't buy it. Questions about the item are welcome.
- If you're interested, say so in the thread or send a private message, and keep negotiating by message rather than in public.
- Deals are between buyer and seller. The club and its moderators aren't party to any sale and can't refund, guarantee or arbitrate.
- Inspect in person where you can, and meet somewhere public. For vehicles, check the PPSR for finance owing or stolen or written-off status before paying.
- Use payment methods with buyer protection for posted goods. Be wary of anyone asking for gift cards, overseas transfers, or payment to a different name than the seller's.
- Check the seller's post history and how long they've been a member. Brand-new accounts selling rare parts cheaply are a warning sign.
- Report scams or suspicious listings to the moderators straight away with Report.
After a deal, you're welcome to post brief, factual feedback in the thread (“Received as described, thanks!”). Keep negative feedback factual and try to resolve problems privately first; moderators will remove abusive feedback.
