Hi guys,

I know we all love kombis and everything air cooled VW, and we want to see them do well. I thought I'd write this up to gather some awareness for this years Shitbox Rally and the vehicle we have selected to rally from Perth to Darwin via the Kimberly.

We picked this old girl up from a place outside of Eulo (150kms west of Cunnamulla). We will be doing it up and rallying it from the 31st of May. If you would care to donate a few dollars to our rally team, that would be great. Before we can start the rally we must first raise $4000.

We would really like to thank Lyn and Paul for letting us use their property for the initial restoration weekend. They are the friendliest couple of V-dubbers we have come to know and love. Thanks to the Cornish Mafia

We're still on the lookout for some suitable wide 5's for the Kombi. Anyone got a spare set they no longer want or need?

It's been a long hard road to restoring this bus on a budget. Jon and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to help out in this process. Without a close knit community like the one we have here, such achievements would never be possible.

Welcome Wolfy

We have pulled this bus out of the desert (1000kms west of Brisbane), we have rebuilt petty much everything, and we have already raised $4125 for the Cancer Council. We would like to raise some more money, so if you would like a tax deduction this financial year, please donate HERE!

Videos of our progression can be found on YouTube, just search for 1969 Volkswagen shitbox. I will make another video soon.

I would like to thank everyone who has donated to our rally team, and our sponsors.

Leon's Motors did an excellent job getting us the parts we needed and helping us out when we had neither the tool or knowledge. It was truly a pleasure dealing with such fine gentlemen.

Matt Berry Motorsports was able to take us through a few procedures when we needed the advice most, and Bluey's old starter motor came in handy. Always a pleasure Matt 🙂

Here is our rally car:
WOLFY!

Kind Regard,
Lewis and Jon
