You need to SET the valve clearances (equal on all intakes, AND equal on all exhausts) -- & get timing, dwell etc right first for good results too!

i was having trouble with the motor stalling when slowing down for turning corners in town.
also rough idle after the engine had warmed up and the choke had cut out.
read somewhere that too rich a mixture would cause these problems and its seems they were right. (touch wood all is good now)
mixture screw seemed to be wound out about 4 turns or more , so running rich
i wasnt exactly sure if the above procedure was correct as i couldnt find anything in the manual.
