My guess would be a 59. Can see that it has pull out style door handles, not push button type??
still has original 1200...

and here's my favourite, a nice old panel van, still has the original company logo down the side...:P

look at the condition of the inside of the doors, also used as a storage shed...hmmm

the semaphore lenses are in excellent condition...

so try to look past their faults, underneath all that dirt are some beautiful early buses...

Now, I like that panel van. If was going to have a T2 thats what it would be. Where is it and is it for sale.
company logo...

The 11 window is probably a 60 or a 61. A 59 would still have ribbed bumpers and semaphores...
The panel could be anything from 55-59, can't tell on the basis of the pictures. Rear tailights would be a guide if they were still there (doubtful I guess). The panel is parked in grass with stuff piled inside it which is never good - it would probably need a lot of work to bring it back....
Be a cool logo rat bus - pity we can't get rusty vehicles back on the road in this country (although some of the 'rat' stuff that gets driven street legally in the US and some European countries is pretty scary - gotta remember to hold your feet up or your shoes will be draggin on the ground!)
If the panel is too far gone to be salveagable is the rear ribbed bumper still on it? (I lust after one of these - also normally missing...)

It's 59/60.
The last of the semaphores but after the combined brake tail /light (58).
Good find brother, I remember how pleased I was to pull my 57 bus out of a paddock.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.
One of the worst things I have had to watch was us dumping two splitty's in Kalgoorlie when we left town. Tried to give them away, but couldnt - no one was interested. They were a 61 and a 67 bus (ie not panel, but 21 window).
Dad used to (years and years ago) have a 54 kombi (there are photos around with me 22 years ago when I was 1, with it in the background). Apparently one of the earliest kombi's in Oz. Would love to know where it went (it was in S.A at the time).
spook, u still got ur 57 bus? where in newcastle r u?
is rat look possible in aus? that what i want with the panel...

Theres no reason that rat look cars should be illegal in Aus - provided that they are mechanically sound, have no structural rust, and all lights, horns, blinkers, windcreen wipers etc work.
Would look sweet with a set of BRM's and dumped.
i'll do some research on wats legal wat isnt, and then i'll do the bare minimun to get it registered, drop it with my empi sprints...lol😀

yeah baby 😉
Well,
In Vic nnow, It's ANY visible rust - there i sno distinction between structural and non-structural....ALL rust must be fixed for a legitimate RWC (necessary for road reg).
I understand that some States (WA for one) may be a bit more lenient than this and only require that there is no structural rust...

The first one is probably a 60 model with those blinkers on the front....I don't know when Kombi outside door handles changed to the push button type. Late 1960 Beetles had blinkers & push button door handles...
The other Van is naturally earlier, with semaphores [trafficators] and single tail /stop lamps - to Me they are both past it... too much work involved....

Blimey!!:o And i thought U.K. laws were strict!
Hmm, I didn't know it was ANY visible rust...
I was thinking too that those were really cool rat-busses. Nice one.
ANY visable rust?
my bug was passed for RWC with quite a bit of surface rust and some bad floor pan rust when i bought it late last year...
Like the logo'd panel 😀 that would be a pretty cool rat if its not to far gone...

both buses need alot of work ALOT of work to get them roadworthy, its a shame coz they look so cool.
just look at frenzix's car to see wat can be registered in NSW after sitting in a barn for 20 years...
