Jasmine the 75 L Bug

unique?
:thumb
Looks like one of the old police cars. Since they had 4 canvas doors. But who knows what this one has been used for with the shovel and everything off road on it. Could me millitary use, or even a mountain rescue sort of thing.
It says it on the bumper "typ62"
Id dare say a very early war vehicle! But dont quote me! Their was a issue of Volksworld with the ambulance version on the cover. It has 4 doors similarly hinged as a typ 181/182 (thing)
N!
Gas powered I think or steam...
Have some info at home. Will get over weekend if I get the chance.
the tanks for the steam/gas components sat up the front and pushed thru the front. i think this one has a normal engine as with the wheel where it is i dont think it could be gas/steam powered.
anyway its cool and yeah looks like the old cop cars.......
it's in grat condition, restored I wouls assume. I wonder what the two things are either side of the front screen pillars!

that is really unique and cool. i like it.:thumb🙂
😀i want it😀
I'm pretty sure this is a prototype Kubel, the later hebmuller built police cars had different body styling.
It's a wood gas generator conversion.
Looked it up. They also did it to kubels.
Plenty of info in one of Keith Sueme's books.
Is that firewood strapped onto the front? 😀😀😀
Kruizin Kol
one of the plates actually states type 62
maybe those two things sticking up are flag posts?
i thought the steam ones has HUGE tanks in the front and sat up very hi
anyway why can i see a pestrol cap??
cool car but !
I know this is a late posting, I was Cruising for kubel info......
It's a Type 62, 1 of Only 3 built in 1937, prototype to the kubelwagen, the "Posts" you see either side of the widscreen are Semaphores, the Wooden fascine, mounted on the front of the vehicle are used for unditching on muddy ground.
yer i know,,,, f*****G ugly dats what!

There seem to be a lot of copies of war time VW's getting built in Europe at the moment..
The things that give them away, (on the slightly less than genuine looking ones) are things like the size of the screen, the windsreen wipers and if you can get close enough, a look at the front suspension...
That one has a petrol can strapped to the side, so I dunno about steam, gas or otherwise, but the guys building put in a Heap of work to make them look the part...
A close inspection of that roll of wood on the front bumper will reveal that it has light coloured straping on it, underneath, (not the leather strap), and if it's all joined together it may be a type of temporary track system that can be laid down for the car to drive through the soft stuff such as desert sand, hence the shovel in a very handy spot... The German Military were in the North African Desert for some time during WWII...
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
Definately gasoline powered.... NOT Wood etc...
Early beetle prototype.....
Beetle windscreen etc...
very early hubcaps.....
Wood/charcoal burner would have bee sitting where the spare tyre is mounted now.....

Wheels and hub caps mean nothing as they can be easily changed.. I'm no mechanic but I managed to change my 64 beetle to 4 stud from a wide 5... That doesn't make it a 70 +...?? Also note the clasp that holds the remainder of the hood closed is a sping loaded metal one.. On the original it would have been a leather strap with a belt buckle style clasp.. Again, changeable, but why would you, if you wanted to keep the car "original"...
It IS a Good reproduction, as is the one that turns up at Day of The Volkswagen and a few other shows in Perth...
That one had me fooled, till the owner stepped in and started pointing out the little stuff...
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
It is very nice would like to know if repo or classic

Just to clear things up a little, the pic below is of a "wood gasifier" powered Kubel. Wood, charcoal and coal gasifiers were used where petrol could not be found easily. I can see a few of us going back to this older but practical technology, with the way fuel prices are now.
that thing would look sweet with low profiles and a slamming 🙂
